Stirring Stories: An Imbolc Storytelling in Buckfastleigh

31 January @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
£7 – £10

The days are lengthening, and green shoots are nudging their way through the soil. As winter loosens its icy grip on the world, it is time to celebrate Imbolc, the Celtic festival of early spring, whose name means “in the belly.”

Join us for Stirring Stories, a series of uplifting tales to stoke the fire within and rouse us from our winter slumber. Forget the to-do list, gather together and and allow your imagination to unfurl into the realm of myth and magic.

This special event with Dartmoor storytellers Henry Everett and Hannah Sneyd promises a vivid array of stories formed through deep communion with the landscape. Blending traditional tales from around the world with original stories, games and song, we curate our events to closely match the energy of the season.

Things to note: This is a family-friendly event, with a 20-minute interval and food and drink available from The Lounge Cafe – please see the MIC website for further details.

Your hosts:

Hannah Sneyd is a storyteller and healer based on Dartmoor. She creates original stories and shares folk tales from around the world. She performs around the South West and runs Stories and Stars – a  monthly storytelling event in Plymouth.

Henry Everett is an earth-loving artist, writer, storyteller and poet. Henry tells stories across the country and can be found at festivals, schools, pubs, fields and woodlands. Author of ‘Pixie Folk Tales’ an anthology of traditional folk tales of the infamous South West magical characters, published by the History Press 2025.
